Bootleg Port 2022

2022 St. Amant Bootleg Port

Rich | Bold | Heritage-Driven
500 ml · $24

Our Bootleg Port takes its name from the adventuresome spirit that has defined St. Amant Winery since the very beginning. Crafted from six traditional Portuguese grape varieties including, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cão, and Tinta Roriz, it shows a deep ruby hue with crushed berry aromas, ripe fruit flavors, and a smooth, subtly nutty finish.

The story of St. Amant began in 1979, when Tim and Barbara Spencer founded the winery in Amador County, later relocating to Lodi’s historic Delta region. From the start, their focus was simple: make honest, character-driven wines that reflect both place and passion. Tim’s early fascination with Portuguese varieties led him to craft his first vintage port in 1981 — famously made from a batch of “bootlegged” reclaimed wine that inspired the Bootleg Port name.

More than four decades later, St. Amant remains a family-run winery, guided by that same spirit of independence and craftsmanship. The 2022 Bootleg Port continues the legacy — rich, expressive, and built to be shared with good company.
